In between Del Mar and Encinitas lies sleepy Solana Beach, where it seems everyone owns a dog, a bicycle or both. Home to the famed Cedros Design District, Solana offers several miles of dramatic bluff-backed beaches, charming Fletcher Cove, and a variety of innovative eateries and boutiques.
The Cedros Avenue Design District is a seasoned shoppers paradise. A stand-out among the rest, Cedros shops specialize in the unique. One-of-a-kind decor, furnishings, art, jewelry, clothing and accessories can be found in all price ranges. Shops offering in-stock selections and custom pieces partner easily with private design firms. Chic garden shops and world import showrooms broaden the selection for home appointments. Unique boutiques offer fashions for men, women, children, and even Fido or Fluffy.
Want to hear…”OOh, I LOVE that! Where did you get it?” Head to Cedros Avenue.
Just a couple of blocks from the ultra-contemporary Solana Beach train station, is the famous live music venue, the Belly Up Tavern. Established in 1974, the Belly Up earned its place in SoCal rock history long before sidewalks, or even neighboring retailers, had moved onto Cedros. Today, the Belly Up continues to rock yet another generation of music aficionados, with everything from jazz to reggae, rock to techno.
Be sure to check out the innovative restaurants on Cedros and along Hwy 101 while in Solana Beach. Not sure where to go? We’ve tried them all and here’s who stood out from the crowd…
