Heading north up the coast just past Del Mar is coastal Solana Beach, a lesser known gem of a beach city. The atmosphere here is that of a relaxed, lower density beach community. Towering bluffs line the beach and lend a secluded feel to the area.
Fletcher Cove offers a gentle sloping beach that’s perfect for beginning surfers, and is a popular gathering place for concerts and festivals. On any given day you’ll find Highway 101 full of spandex clad cyclists, fit joggers, and it seems everyone owns a dog. Vacation rentals and seasonal condominiums line the bluffs overlooking the ocean. Across Highway 101, the famed Cedros Design District offers treasures from antiques to hot fashion boutiques, all anchored by a myriad assortment of design services for home and hearth.
