From Harbor Island sitting at the northernmost edge of San Diego Bay, to the marinas in the southern reaches, a few miles of coastline offer a taste of history, community, international commerce, and a sun-lover’s paradise.

Downtown San Diego begins at the waterfront, with the Embarcadero Parks and tall-masted monuments to our sailing history.  The Maritime Museum is easy to spot, with its tall ships at dock on North Harbor Drive.  The USS Midway Museum invites visitors to follow the steps of sailors that lived and worked on this aircraft carrier.  Mere blocks away, discover the historic Gaslamp District, recently revitalized and host to plenty of restaurants as well as night clubs and watering holes.  Little Italy sits adjacent to San Diego’s Airport and continues to draw visitors to its tight-knit community and weekly Farmers Market.

Balboa Park is an extensive public park where many of San Diego’s museums are located, in addition to the world-renowned San Diego Zoo.  Take time to stroll hiking trails that wind throughout the park and it’s canyons, or spend a sunny afternoon investigating the International Cottages.  Easy on the pocket book, every Tuesday different museums offer free admission to their permanent exhibitions.
