Similar to it’s coastal neighbor to the south, but more intimate, Del Mar is a popular upscale community. The Del Mar Racetrack is not the only select destination, however, as “North Beach” (AKA: Dog Beach) is the North County location where dogs enjoy the surf with the greatest freedom.
It’s beautiful beaches host more of the sandy bluffs that populate north San Diego county, as well as rare walk-out beaches at street level. The peerless L’Auberge Del Mar Resort sparkles after a recent extensive renovation, and the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack offer exciting events almost year-round.
