Cougars will be taking over the track tomorrow, and one iconic kitty has been placed at the top of the scratching post. The folks over at the track thought, “What better way to kick off the Cougar II Handicap Race than to crown one of own fine ladies” (wait for it…)

We’ve been counting the days til June 12, (that’s tomorrow!) when everyone’s favorite, the San Diego County Fair takes place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. With concerts, midway rides, home, hobby, craft and livestock exhibits, competitions, and sinfully out there fair food… is 22 days enough to fit it all in? Uh, no!
Past American Idols Kelly Clarkson, David Archuleta, and David Cook entertain along with favorites from across the generations. Loretta Lynn, The B-52’s, Melissa Etheridge, Bret Michaels… What other venue gets this kind of diversity? See local upstarts compete in Musicpalooza, where online voting will select the top three acts. The final round is July 3, when the winners share the stage with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.
