Some serious surf hounds are slated to hit the waves Saturday, May 22nd, in Imperial Beach for the 5th Annual Loews Coronado Bay Resort Surf Dog Competition.

“Slap me sum paw, I ain’t no drooling kook!”

With tails held high and paws waxed just so, dozens of brave canines will take their turn on the line to the delight of fans from far and wide. Meanwhile on the beach, waiting riders will get a chance to  sniff out  the competition and bark up the judges…

You won’t want to miss an event so hot, that it was featured on TMZ.com! We also hear that competitors will be eligible to attend the official premier of ‘Marmaduke’ (yes, the new movie coming out!) Now that’s something to bark about!

This year, proceeds from the competition will benefit the San Diego Police Department Canine Unit through the San Diego Police Foundation.

Looking for an excuse to ‘hop the island’ and spend a day exploring Coronado?  You won’t want to miss the 4th annual  Coronado Art Walk this Sunday, September 20th – from 10 AM until 5 PM. This popular event is sure to provide a picture perfect day considering its charming host, the picturesque Coronado Village! Art, music and more…

Location: Drive or take the ferry to the Coronado Ferry landing… The Art Walk & music is free, thanks to the Coronado Historical Association and the City of Coronado.  Artists will have their work displayed on the grounds of the Ferry Landing, along with interactive art & vendors, and a stage hosting live bands.

After exploring the artists’ booths, hop on the double-decker ‘Art Walk’ shuttle bus to visit the Coronado Art Association artists at Spreckel’s Park, for their regular Art-In-The-Park event. You can even continue on to the world famous Hotel Del Coronado, and hop off for a leisurely stroll along one of the top 10 beaches in the country!
