May 14th, 2009 is a special day for Hornblower Cruises of San Diego and Helen Woodward Animal Center, as they host their 9th Annual Pet Rescue Day on the Bay.
For the small donation of a clean towel or blanket, you and your (leashed) pet can hop aboard for one of their hourly cruises around the San Diego Bay, at a price you can’t beat! Just fetch your old towels & go!

Donations will be accepted from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm at 1066 North Harbor Drive, (you know, where the cruise ships dock.) Hornblower ships will be departing from 10 am to 4:15pm. Doggie goodie bags will be available, courtesy of event sponsors including Petco and the Port of San Diego. Your donation scores you a free one hour Hornblower Harbor Cruise & Sea Lion Adventure ticket.

Last year’s event was a great success, collecting over 2,000 blankets and towels for the HWAC. Hundreds of dogs and their humans climbed aboard for a free cruise on the Big Bay. Don’t miss this great opportunity to help a great cause and enjoy a frugal day on the waves with your favorite furry pal.
